The fireground demands proficiency in the basics. BYO-I puts the tools in your hands and emphasizes the mindset, mechanics, and repetition required to get the job done.

Starting with a THEM 1st Mindset, students will sharpen their mask-ups, victim drags, and understanding of fireground search data. We’ll reinforce Life, Fire, Layout, Call Out as a foundation for making aggressive, informed decisions when seconds matter.

From there, it’s all about the irons. Students will break down tool anatomy, mechanical advantages, and proper door size-up before putting Gap, Set, Force and Hit, Stop, Wedge to work. We’ll cover one- and two-firefighter forcible entry on inward- and outward-swinging doors, added leverage, and the importance of communication and maintaining tool control.

This class is about doing the little things right, putting in the work, and building confidence and competence through core fundamentals.
