    The Midrise Engine Company Class delivers hands-on training in both conventional and alternative standpipe operations. This intensive 8-hour course equips firefighters with the skills and knowledge required to effectively deploy hose lines above the second floor. Key topics include hose bundle techniques, utilizing identifiable landmarks, managing various hose sizes, and mastering gate and gauge operations. The morning session focuses on building critical skills through targeted instruction, while the afternoon features dynamic live-fire evolutions to put those skills into action. Instructed by Marty Rafacz.

  • Mid-Rise Truck Operations

    Mid-Rise Truck Operations [22 remaining]

    This hands-on training course is designed to enhance critical truck company skills for mid-rise structure operations. Through a series of rotating skill stations (Ladders, Ladders, Ladders, What Can We Do With “The Can”, and Perfecting the Civilian Search), students will develop and refine techniques in ground ladder deployment, portable extinguisher use, and efficient civilian search operations. Key components include advanced ladder throws and the Paxton Drill, practical application of water and pump cans in live fire scenarios, and victim removal strategies including VES (Vent-Enter-Search). Ideal for firefighters looking to sharpen their truck work in dynamic, realistic environments. Instructed by Andy Hoff.

  • Commercial Fire Operations

    Commercial Fire Operations [21 remaining]

    This 8-hour class will be immersive with practical training session designed to equip firefighters and officers with essential skills and knowledge for effectively managing operations in commercial building fires. Over the course of eight hours, participants will engage in hands-on exercises, scenario-based drills. Key topics include building construction features, fire ventilation strategies, search and rescue procedures, forcible entry problems and tactics, and hazard identification. Participants will also learn about pre-incident planning, operational safety, and coordination with other emergency services. Instructed by Richie Stack.

  • Heavy Rescue & Extrication

    Heavy Rescue & Extrication [18 remaining]

    Students will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge through intensive, hands-on extrication training. This course involves the use of a wide range of extrication tools and techniques on various types of heavy vehicles. Participants who are ready for the challenge will engage in eight hours of practical experience, focusing on cutting, lifting, spreading, and stabilizing operations. The morning will consist of four rotating stations: Cutting and Spreading Operations, School Bus Familiarization, Lifting, Cribbing, and Airbag Techniques, and Grip Hoist Operations. Following a lunch break, students will be divided into response companies for a final scenario-based evaluation of a simulated incident involving a passenger vehicle trapped beneath a heavy vehicle. Instructed by Alex Ooms.
