This two-day course is designed to strengthen the fundamentals of the first-arriving Engine and Truck company. One day one, students in both tracks will cover skill stations using a crawl-walk-run methodology. On day two, students will come together for integrated live-fire scenarios. By the end of the course, students will be better prepared to perform as effective first-due firefighters through technical proficiency, teamwork, and fireground coordination.
ENGINE TRACK: Masking up with gloves on, hose grips, hose advancements, flow & move, corner management, water mapping, air entrainment, coupling drop, and stretching techniques.
TRUCK TRACK: Masking up with gloves on, dirty drags, conventional and non-conventional forcible entry, search techniques, vent-enter-search, and ladder operations.
Integrated Live-Fire Scenarios: Students will merge from both tracks for realistic company operations under live-fire conditions, applying skills learned from day one in coordinated, high-stake scenarios. Students will integrate hose deployment, fire attack, forcible entry, search, and coordinated engine and truck company operations.
