WHAT IS THE SHORELINE TRUCK ACADEMY?

The SHORELINE TRUCK ACADEMY is a five day (40 hour) physically demanding course designed for experienced firefighters to gain advanced knowledge in truck company operations.

The class will be held in the greater SEATTLE area, with days 1-4 in the Shoreline, WA area. On day 5, students will head up to the Washington State Fire Training Academy near North Bend, WA for live fire training.

Students will gain hands on experience in the following skills:

Building Construction
Forcible Entry
Search & Rescue Techniques (Aerial and Ground Ladder Based/Rope Assisted)
Ventilation (Steep Pitch/Shallow Pitch/Commercial Flat Roof)
Elevator Rescue
Scenario Based Live Fire MCO's

PPE REQURIED

Structural PPE Ensemble
SCBA with Spare Bottle
Steel Toed Boots
Work Gloves
Eye Protection

*Departments sending multiple students are asked to provide
1 chainsaw with fuel/oil per every 4 students to maximize reps in training
